About Hazel

***Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time*** We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Hazel is an 11 month old smart, athletic, and playful young dog with a big personality and endless enthusiasm for life. She absolutely loves other dogs and is happiest when she has a playmate to run, wrestle, and chase around the yard with. Hazel greets new dog friends with a wagging tail and lots of excitement, and she has done well playing with dogs both her size and much larger. This girl has energy to spare and thrives when she has an outlet for it. Hazel loves running, playing, and showing off her impressive speed and agility. She would do best with an active adopter who enjoys outdoor adventures like running, hiking, or regular trips to a dog park or large yard where she can really stretch her legs. Hazel is fully house trained and crate trained. She sleeps comfortably in her crate overnight and settles down well when crated during the day. She rides calmly in the car and enjoys coming along for outings. She also loves toys, bones, and anything that keeps her busy. Hazel is a very intelligent and food-motivated dog, which makes her a great candidate for continued training. She’s still young and learning things like leash manners and keeping “four paws on the floor” when greeting people, but she is eager to please and responds well to positive reinforcement. Because of her enthusiasm and high energy, Hazel would do best in a home without small children for now. She would thrive with an active individual or couple, ideally with a playful dog companion and a yard where she can run and burn off energy. After a full day of play and adventure, Hazel is happy to settle down and recharge. If you’re looking for a loyal, fun, and athletic companion who will keep life exciting, Hazel may be your perfect match. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown.
