About Buddy Basset Hound
Meet Buddy! Buddy was found wandering for weeks in the streets of Texas. A kind woman rescued him and contacted us here at Summit Dog Rescue for help. We’re now stepping in to help her find him a great home; and we’ve started working on bringing him here to Colorado where he will be neutered and vetted as we help get him ready for adoption. Buddy is a friendly medium-size boy who we think will thrive with some basic doggie training. He loves to play and he’s so adorable with those sweet little legs and even some curls around his neck! He seems to be pretty mellow in his foster home. His breed is anyone’s guess — but we’re thinking maybe a Staffy/Basset Hound mix, or maybe Basset Hound/Terrier. Whatever he is, he’s cute as a bug. Buddy hasn’t been in close contact as far as we know with kids or kitties, so until he’s been tested he’ll need a forever home with no kids or cats, please and thanks. He also hasn’t had much direct contact with other dogs since he was rescued, but he’s met other dogs through the fence and through the window. He looks like he wants to join the party — plus he’s mellow, inquisitive and unbothered when around a nearby reactive Chihuahua. He likes to play with toys and takes treats from his rescuer’s hand. She says (given his time when abandoned to the streets) that he can be careful about who approaches his food bowl, but with time and training we expect he’ll learn that life is great and there’s plenty of food and love available. He’s a really good boy who just wants attention — always happy with tail wags and wanting to be loved. For more info and/or to apply to adopt Buddy, send us an email at SummitDogRescue@gmail.com, telling us a bit about yourself, your home environment and your lifestyle. A volunteer will get back to you shortly. Thanks.
