About Bo

Bo is an incredibly resilient and affectionate senior Pit Bull Terrier who’s come a long way despite significant challenges. When first taken in, he was extremely underweight and barely able to walk, the result of severe, permanent spinal trauma suffered at some unknown point in his life. Age-related degenerative changes add to his physical limitations, but with good care and nutrition, Bo has regained a surprising amount of strength and mobility. His spirit stands out—he’s happy, friendly, and deeply loving, refusing to let his physical setbacks dampen his bright personality. Bo needs lifelong management for his spinal condition, including ongoing in-home physical therapy, close monitoring, and more frequent specialized veterinary care than usual. His adopter must be financially prepared for this ongoing commitment. Additionally, Bo is heartworm positive and, due to his spinal condition, cannot undergo injectable treatment, so he’ll need a strict regimen of monthly heartworm prevention for life. Bo thrives in calm, quiet homes without rough play or chaos. He gets along with other dogs, but only those who are low-energy and gentle—he cannot be jumped on or play too roughly. His ideal family respects his boundaries, understands his medical needs, and is ready to provide the consistent care he deserves. In return, Bo offers sincere affection, joyful companionship, and a testament to the power of resilience. Born August 5th, Bo is a proud Leo—no wonder he’s so brave and radiant.
