Zayne… or as we lovingly call him… “Inzayne in the Membrane.” (If you’re an 80’s baby, you already started singing it in your head. If not, just know he’s got main-character energy. 🤭) But here’s the part that isn’t funny… Zayne was seconds away from losing his life. The call came in asking if we could help — and because there was space at the time, we said yes. That “yes” is the only reason this sweet boy is still here. And when you look at him, you can tell life hasn’t always been kind. Zayne seems like he’s experienced things no dog ever should. He’s especially skeptical of men and takes time to feel safe. He watches the world carefully, like he’s waiting for it to let him down again. But once he realizes you’re gentle? You can see the tiniest spark of hope flicker in his eyes. He’s just a young guy — about 1–2 years old — with long legs made for zoomies and a heart that desperately wants to trust. His dream home? • A fenced yard where he can run free • One or two confident dog friends to show him the ropes • No children under 16 • A patient, experienced human who understands timid dogs • Someone willing to say, “It’s okay, I’ve got you,” as many times as it takes He doesn’t love being confined in a kennel or crate (can you blame a boy who’s felt trapped before?), but we’re working on it. What he really needs is time. Stability. Consistency. Safety. We believe he’s a Labrador/Beagle mix, which means he’s got the heart of a family dog… he just needs a family who won’t give up on him. We’re unsure about cats, so for now we’re saying no. Zayne almost didn’t get a second chance. Now he just needs someone brave enough to give him the forever one.
