About Juliet

Juliet flew in from Hawaii in December 2025. She came to the states courtesy of our rescue partner, Purrs Across the Pacific. Juliet is a very sweet girl who loves attention. She does alright with other cats, however, she has fecal parasite, Tritrichomonas, which is very difficult to cure. The medication that most commonly cures it is not FDA approved, but it is available online from a website that sells dewormers. Juliet went through two rounds of treatment, however the parasite is still present. This parasite is not common: studies show it is not too common in street cats, but it is more common in catteries, as it is contagious, but rarely tested for unless a PCR Parasite panel is done, which is what we use to test all of our cats. Though, from those studies, only 31% of cats in catteries had it. Juliet has been asymptomatic of the parasite for the duration of her stay, but we will continue to treat Juliet until it is gone. Juliet can still be adopted if the adopter: -has no other cats -has other cats with Tritrichomonas -understands the risks of the parasite spreading to other household cats and symptoms that could come with it For more information regarding Tritrichomonas, find our educational section for a print out.
