About Gramps
Gramps, or Grampa Po Po, went like so many of the South Texas animals that aren't lucky enough to have found loving humans, and was dumped in a dumping field in Mission, Texas. He was almost in a daze from the heat and lack of food and water when he was finally found. Luckily, Gramps is one of the lucky ones and he was saved! Gramps won't let his past define him and is still an energetic, playful, happy go lucky boy, intent on dancing through life! He enjoys walks and is good with other dogs. He recently had dental surgery and they removed all but one lone tooth in his mouth- did anyone say soft-serve? His tongue doesn't always stick out, but when it does... it's cuteness to the power of . Please excuse his current profile pic and the state of his do- it was taken while sedated after his neuter and he can't get groomed until he's fully healed. Then you'll have to watch out, because Gramps might just transform into the Casanova you never knew you needed to watch out for. Gramps is 90% potty trained- he will go to the back door but has been seen lifting. It's hard when you're in a home with lots of other male dogs because when one lifts, then another lifts and then how can you not lift?!?!?! Gramps is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, awaiting an adopter or open foster home in Colorado to bring him up and into their home! ***Gramps is being posted on behalf of our partner rescue in Texas- the process and adoption will go through them. The adoption fee does not include the transport fee (usually $125-200/dog).*** Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
