About Blaise
Hi there. My name is Blaise. I'm about two years old, 45 pounds of pure sweetness, and I have a whole lot of love ready to give to my forever people. I'll be honest - new people and new places can make me a little nervous at first. I like to take a minute to figure things out. But once I know I'm safe? Oh boy... get ready for snuggles, tail wags, and my signature goofy grin. I'm working really hard on building my confidence and so far I'm making great strides. I've lived with other dogs before and I'm currently hanging out in a foster home with both big and small pups. We play sometimes and snuggle sometimes... but they're kind of old souls, so mostly I entertain myself with bones and focus on my favorite thing: humans. Boy do I love spending time with humans! My energy level is what they call "moderate," which I think means I'm the perfect mix. I adore cuddling (like professional-level cuddling) but I also really enjoy using my brain. I LOVE working on tricks! I already know sit and shake, and I'm learning that hugs are something I should only give when invited. Apparently not everyone wants surprise hugs? Strange, but I'm respecting it. Pretty much if you offer me yummy treats, I will do my absolute best to impress you. When the foster humans leave the house, I hang out in my kennel. It's not my favorite place yet, but I'm learning it's safe. I tend to whine at first when I go in because I'd much rather be wherever you are, but I settle down after a bit. I'm trying really hard to be brave about it! I'm about 92% house trained (which I think deserves a gold star). The rest is just me and the humans figuring out a good routine together. I promise I'm doing my part! At night, I get to sleep in bed with my foster mom and the other dogs, and it is AMAZING. I snuggle in close and sleep all night long. Sometimes I don't even want to get up in the morning because it's so cozy. So if you're looking for a built-in weighted/heated blanket with a heartbeat... I'm your guy! More than anything, I'm just a good boy looking for a good family - one that will be patient while I keep building confidence, is excited to teach me new things, and definitely a family that is very serious about snuggle time. If you think we might be a match, please apply to meet me and the humans will set up a time for us. I'll be waiting (probably practicing my handshake and perfecting my cuddle technique) with paws crossed! Xoxo, Blaise
