About Tabitha

Tabitha’s Thanksgiving story is one of miracles, resilience, and the kind of gratitude that brings tears to your eyes. When Tabitha was seen by the ophthalmologist, we were told something devastating. Because of the severe swelling from ocular FIP, she was believed to be completely blind — and we were told she would never see again. It was not a “maybe.” It was presented as permanent. But Tabitha had other plans. With treatment and medication, the inflammation slowly faded. Her eyes cleared. And then something incredible happened — she started tracking movement. She looked toward voices. She followed her foster mom across the room. Today, her eyes look perfectly normal. The swelling is gone. The inflammation is gone. And while her vision may not be textbook perfect, she absolutely can see. She sits at the window and watches birds. She looks at you when you walk into the room. She makes eye contact. She sees the world — and the world sees her. For many months, Tabitha has been fostered alongside seven little gray kittens from Irina Puracova’s litter. Somewhere along the way, she decided she was one of them. She plays with them, sleeps in a pile with them, and lovingly grooms them like a devoted big sister. She is most often found bathing and caring for her favorites — Tatiana and Sasha — who she clearly considers her treasured best friends. We cannot bear the thought of her being left behind when the kittens find homes. In her heart, they are her littermates. They are her comfort, her joy, and her family. We are now especially thankful that Tabitha survived a horrible illness that once felt hopeless. She fought. She healed. She proved the odds wrong. And now she deserves the happiest of endings. We are hoping for a special family willing to open their heart to Tabitha and one of her best friends — Tatiana or Sasha — as a bonded pair. She has already survived the unimaginable. Now she just needs someone to choose her, and let her live the beautiful life she fought so hard for. If you believe in miracles, Tabitha is waiting to meet you. Apply to adopt:
