Poncho is believed to be around 8 years old, and his story is one that tugs at your heart. He has only ever known one home since he was a tiny kitten. His whole world was his mom. Unfortunately, his mom’s health has been declining, and she made the incredibly hard and selfless decision to surrender him so he could be safe and cared for. Poncho definitely misses her. You can tell. But he is doing his very best. He was the only cat in his home, so being in a foster environment with other cats has been a little overwhelming for him. Cats make him nervous. Dogs, however, he does just fine with. And people? He absolutely loves people. Poncho is craving what he once had. A calm, quiet home. A soft place to land. Someone who will love on him and help him feel secure again. He is incredibly handsome and very aware of it. He has a tiny bit of what we jokingly call “cuteness aggression.” It is not mean spirited at all. It is simply his way of loving back a little enthusiastically when he feels safe and connected. Poncho does not need chaos. He does not need a busy household full of other cats. He just needs someone who understands that sometimes the most loyal hearts are the ones who have only ever known one person. He is ready to love again.
