She does best as the only dog in an adult-only home, and is ready for someone who will appreciate her loyal companionship.

About Lyla

Lyla is a loyal, deeply affectionate Golden Retriever/Labrador mix born in December 2018—a classic Sagittarius, so it’s no surprise she lives for adventure and the outdoors. She’s happiest soaking up sunshine in a securely fenced yard, so count on her spending plenty of time outside if the weather is good. Lyla’s progress in foster care is obvious: she’s house trained, car-savvy, and eager for human companionship, yet she likes her space and doesn’t want to share toys or food, so she needs to be your only dog. Although she gets along with cats, she's best as your only pet and needs an adult-only home without children. Object guarding still pops up with high-value items, but trade her a treat and she’ll usually drop it. Loyalty runs deep with Lyla—she’ll follow you around, ask for affection, and settle in with you once she’s told to take it easy. She still gets excited on walks and will pull, but some free training support is available. Because she’s especially bonded to her foster mom, Lyla will need a few transition visits before leaving for her new family. She has Addison’s Disease, managed by daily prednisone (about $20/month); she may need monthly shots in the future, which can be done at home or by your vet. Adoption takes place in person in the Omaha, NE area. Your new best friend is just one click away.
