Allow us to introduce Morpheus! This special pooch has been in the care of the MCSPCA since he arrived in September as a stray and that is way too long. Luckily, for Morpheus he was offered a foster home with one of our dedicated volunteers. This is great because it got him out of the shelter, but his journey is far from over, he still needs an adoptive home. While he has been in foster care, we have learned that he is one smart boy! He LOVES training and has already mastered sit, come, down, stay, and drop-it. He also enjoys a good game of fetch. He has been a good house guest, is housebroken, crate trained and respectful in the home. He has also been good with the children in his foster home and is gentle with the youngest child. His foster dad describes him as a lover that enjoys cuddles, affection, and kisses. He is a charmer for sure! Morpheus is a special dog that also has a special heart. His special heart is full of love with a grade 3 murmur which is likely not a concern. However, there can be sudden cardiac arrythmias, but most dogs with this degree never show or develop any issues and will live a long life without a need for medication. A heart murmur is no reason to remain homeless and unwanted. Morpheus could likely live in a home with another dog with proper, slow introductions.
