Better Than Burt Reynolds. In case his name doesn't tell you everything you need to know, here's a little bit about him: Burt's a strapping young fella and his energy knows no bounds. His playstyle is insistent, maybe even demanding. Large or small, if you are a dog, you are playing and wrestling with Burt. Like it or not. If you're a dog with a little bit of char-pei he will grab your stretchy neck and pull. If you don't have a stretchy neck . . . he'll still grab your neck. After a 2.5 mile walk, Burt's favorite thing is to sprint around a large yard acting a fool. Seriously, the energy this guy has is incredible. Despite all this, he is an expert snuggler. He loves to stretch out on the full length of the sofa and snooze. When he gets bored he'll moan and push you off with his giant paws. Every evening he puts himself to bed early, always the first. I suspect so he can have the exact middle. But don't worry. He is the loveliest sleeping partner ever. In the morning when he knows you are already awake he'll scooch around so you can spoon a bit before starting the day. Once out of bed, all bets are off and he's wrestling and pulling on the stretchy necks. Despite his propensity for sprinting, he's lovely on leash walks. He is big and strong so you do have watch for other dogs that will excite him, but for the most part he's a lovely walking partner. He eats a TON. He was very skinny when picked up and he is still growing, so his appetite may level out. In the meantime, if you haven't satisfied his appetite, you must secure all food items. Anything left on the counter or within reach of his nose is fair game and he will help himself. He drinks a lot and will need a rubber mat under his water dish. Other that that he is not drooly and gross. Burt is a show-stopper. Seriously handsome. He's looking for a very active family that's looking for a balance between super-spoiled, bed-sleeping, snuggle bunny and bust-a-move playtime. Burt is believed to be a mix of Great Dane (Stubborn! He has zero recall!), German Shepherd (smart and gets bored without mental and physical stimulation!), and Pointer (He points and has the softest mouth.) Burt ignores cats, is great with very playful and tolerant dogs, kids, and adults.
