She can be a little shy at first, but once she feels safe, she is a very sweet and loving little dog. Buttercup recently had a dental procedure and lost all of her teeth, so she will need canned food or softened kibble for the rest of her life. She is also heartworm positive and is currently being treated using the slow-kill method. We will provide what is needed for her treatment, and it is not something adopters need to be alarmed about. After her owner passed away, Buttercup spent the past year living outside, which has made her understandably cautious. She finds comfort and confidence in her companion Daisy, who helps her feel safe. While Buttercup could be adopted separately if the right home came along, she currently relies heavily on Daisy, and we would love to see them adopted together. Buttercup would do best in a quiet home with older children or adults who will give her time to settle in and feel secure. This sweet senior girl is simply looking for peace, patience, and love for the rest of her golden years.
