About Becky
Meet Becky! Becky is a spayed female border collie/mix in Moscow, ID, estimated to be about three years old. Bright and exceptionally loyal, Becky needs daily mental and physical activity to be at her best. She's happiest in a home with room to run or with someone active who commits to plenty of leash walks. Apartment dwellers should know Becky is vocal when left alone and can get anxious, especially if you’re out of sight—she’ll need an adopter who can spend meaningful time with her and help her work through separation anxiety. Becky thrives on companionship—she's the dog who wants to be right by your side, whether it’s curling up on the couch, hiking, or running after a ball in the yard. Fetch and walks with volunteers are her daily highlights. She has lovely leash manners and doesn’t react much to dogs or people passing by. She loves to leap and spin while chasing balls and will always return them, carefully choosing her favorite toys to keep close. When Becky first arrived as a stray, she was anxious and reserved, but has blossomed with familiar faces. Sudden changes or unfamiliar people can make her uneasy, and her anxiety—common for herding breeds—may show as overstimulation or even nipping if she feels her space or person is threatened. After a short-lived adoption, it's clear Becky is deeply codependent; she bonds intensely but struggles with strangers if her primary person leaves. Medication has helped her anxiety, especially around new experiences and morning transitions. She requires a slow, thoughtful introduction process for potential adopters, ideally meeting them on a walk outside of the home environment where she feels calmer. Multiple introductions are essential, especially for households with several members—each should meet Becky individually before a group visit. Becky is ready for a home that understands her breed, her quirks, and the time commitment she deserves. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
