Meet Toby! 🐾 If you’re looking for a seasoned gentleman with a heart of gold, look no further than Toby. This handsome Labrador/Shepherd mix (and perhaps a sprinkle of a few other things!) is looking for a soft place to land after a bit of a whirlwind journey. Toby came to us after being left at our property, but we soon discovered his history: he had been recently adopted from another shelter after being surrendered by a long-time owner. At 7–8 years old, Toby is ready to settle into a forever home where he can be truly cherished. Why Toby is the Best Boy: A Gentle Soul: His foster family describes him as a truly gentle and loving boy who acclimated to home life almost instantly. Great with Friends: He is a social butterfly! Toby loves chasing his dog siblings, playing tug-of-war, and even enjoys "sniffy time" with the resident cats. The Perfect Roommate: He is house-trained and can be trusted alone—he is not destructive when left out of his crate. Family Man: Toby is great with strangers and does wonderfully with children (currently living with kids ages 11+). Things to Know: Health Journey: Toby arrived with some skin and ear infections and was carrying a few extra pounds. He is currently thriving in foster care while he heals and slims down! Foodie at Heart: Toby is very food-motivated. While this makes him a quick learner, he has been known to "protest" his diet and might try his hand at counter-surfing if he thinks there’s a snack involved. Activity Level: Don't let his age fool you—he still has plenty of play in him, especially when toys are involved! Toby is a resilient, affectionate companion who has so much love left to give.
