About Maureen
Meet Maureen — The Sweetest Little “Mini Lab” Mama! Maureen is a 3-year-old, approximately 30-pound bundle of sweetness who looks just like a miniature Labrador Retriever. While we aren’t completely sure of her breed mix, we are sure that she has one of the gentlest hearts you’ll ever meet. Thanks to a kind Good Samaritan, Maureen was brought to safety just before the January snowstorm, giving her a warm, secure place to welcome her nine adorable puppies on January 31, 2026. Since then, she has been an absolutely devoted mom to her babies — affectionately known as her little “potatoes.” She has cared for them with patience, love, and quiet confidence, proving what a special girl she truly is. Now that her puppies are growing and becoming more independent, it’s almost Maureen’s turn to be cared for and cherished. Maureen has spent most of her time focused on motherhood, so she has been separated from other dogs while nursing, but recently started to come out with the other dogs and has done wonderfully, we are not anticipating any issues with canine companions. She adores people, loves to be cuddled and has a calm, loving presence that makes everyone around her instantly fall in love. Maureen will be ready to head to her forever home beginning March 14th, once her puppies are weaned. She will be spayed after she has had time to heal from motherhood. After raising nine babies, Maureen deserves a home where she gets to be the baby — a place filled with soft beds, warm cuddles, and a family who will show her the love she has so freely given. If you’re looking for a sweet, gentle companion with a heart of gold, Maureen may be your perfect match If you are interested in adopting Maureen, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age. **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
