About Fig
At just one week old, Fig was tiny and fragile, arriving at rescue needing round-the-clock tube-feeding. The first weeks were a fight—every meal was an achievement. At 3½ weeks, he was diagnosed with megaesophagus. But he just kept going. Propped upright for every feeding and cheered on at every bite, Fig slowly grew stronger. By three months, new tests showed his condition was resolving. The medication was gone. His feeding chair, no longer needed. He left the fear behind and embraced life fully. Today, Fig is a lively, happy six-month-old who eats and drinks just like any other dog. His only request: a splash of water on his kibble. No complicated regimen—just add water and serve. Fig bonds deeply to his humans—he’s affectionate, loyal, and grateful for every day. New places might overwhelm him at first, but give him reassurance and watch him flourish. He loves people and adores other dogs—especially ones who can keep up with his playful, main-character energy. He’s always ready to rally the group for more zoomies and thrives in a home with other energetic, larger dogs. Tiny dogs might not appreciate his rough-and-tumble play style. Potty training is in progress, and he does well with a steady routine. Fig tries his best but, like most puppies, sometimes he can’t hold it as long as he’d like. Fig considers fetch a top-tier activity and approaches cats with goofy curiosity. He tries to play, accepts rejection, and moves on happily. Resilient, joyful, goofy, and affectionate, Fig is ready for his forever chapter. What are you waiting for? Apply today!
