John is a stunning 6-year-old long-haired black boy with a soft heart who’s been through a lot. He and his siblings lost their person last October and spent several months alone in the home, with check-ins for food every few days. It’s no surprise he’s still trying to understand that the world can be safe again. In his new foster home, John is still hiding, but once you gently coax him out and he realizes you’re a friend, he melts into a total purr machine. He’s incredibly sweet when he feels secure. He’s just scared right now, and doing his best. John needs a patient, understanding adopter—someone who can give him time, quiet, compassion, and space to decompress from what he's he’s been through. With the right person, this gentle boy has so much love to give, and his soft purrs are worth every bit of patience. He’s also great with other cats, making him a fantastic addition to a multi-cat home. He is attached to his sister Jezzie and finds comfort in having another friendly, confident cat around him. He would do wonderfully being adopted with her or into a home with a kind feline companion. He has been a loved companion and is now simply in need of a new safe place to land.
