Shane is a 9-year-old American Foxhound mix with the sweetest soul and the goofiest little personality. At 60 lbs, he’s the perfect medium-large size — big enough for solid snuggles, but gentle as can be. Don’t let his age fool you — Shane acts much younger than 9! He’s very chill overall, but he loves to gently play with the resident dog and will happily join in on some fun. He’s wonderful with people, great with kids, and does beautifully with other dogs. (Cats are unknown.) This handsome guy is fully house trained and crate trained, but he’s also perfectly trustworthy when left out. He truly doesn’t ask for much — just a small corner of your couch… and maybe your bed too. 💛 Shane is a total character. He: LOVES back and butt scratches Enjoys rolling around in the grass like it’s his full-time job Is a professional sunbather Will howl right along with you if you start howling (hound lovers, you know this is a feature, not a flaw!) He’s affectionate, easygoing, and just happy to be near his people. Shane is currently heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you — the rescue is covering the full cost of treatment, and once he completes it, he will be cured. He also came from the shelter with very itchy skin, likely from stress and poor nutrition, but he’s already improving with medicated baths and a special diet. Shane would thrive in almost any home, but he would absolutely love a yard where he can sunbathe and roll in the grass to his heart’s content.
