Socks
AvailableSocks is a female Retriever/Hound mix with a short black coat, living in Mount Holly, NJ. She is an adult of medium size, house trained, spayed, and current on her vaccinations. Her special charm comes from her resilient spirit and her willingness to embrace new joys after a rough start.
About Socks
Socks is one half of a sister duo that spent her entire early life inside a rural shelter before arriving at Diamond Dogs Rescue. She came to rescue with some hurdles—heartworm positive, overweight after a year and a half with barely any exercise, and totally unfamiliar with toys or play. Despite a tough start and lots of uncertainty during her move to a new environment, Socks has shown a steady sweetness and an eagerness to please everyone she meets. Even after being shut away for so long, she's been quick to learn what it means to relax and have fun around other dogs. Staff members describe her as affectionate, gentle with people, and genuinely happy to be included. These days, Socks is making up for lost time—discovering toys, socializing with dogs, and figuring out what freedom feels like. Once her heartworm treatment is finished, she’ll be ready for a home where she can settle in, continue her gentle recovery, and finally know what it means to be part of a family.
