About Tess
Meet Tess! This little fireball is less than 5lbs of pure chaos and confidence. Tess is the definition of small but mighty. Tess is a cattle dog mix with BIG heeler energy packed into a tiny body. Her instincts are strong and she is already clocking shifts supervising dogs, pigs, goats basically anything that moves. If it exists, she plans to herd it. About Tess: • Under 5 lbs but 100% boss • As of 3/1 she is between 7-8 weeks old • Huge personality • Dog, pig, and goat friendly (with enthusiastic herding attempts) • Crates like a champ at night • Working on potty training • Smart. Busy. Driven. Tess is NOT a “cute little lap puppy.” She is a working-breed baby with a sharp mind and strong instincts. She will require: ✔️ An experienced adopter ✔️ Someone educated on herding breeds ✔️ Commitment to training & continued socialization ✔️ Mental and physical stimulation daily Small children are not recommended unless the family understands herding behavior and the difference between nipping and aggression. Heelers communicate with their mouths that’s instinct, not “mean.” It is incredibly important to us that Tess is placed in a home that understands her needs and is committed to setting her up for lifelong success. The right match matters. We do not know who her parents are so while we think she will be a smaller gal when full grown, we really have no idea. If you’ve been waiting for a tiny velociraptor with leadership qualities and opinions Tess might be your girl. Tess is being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption many places across the country. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the cost of transport.
