About Peanut
Peanut is small but commands attention everywhere he goes. While he’s got the looks that draw you in—a classic Australian kelpie and blue heeler mix with short, bicolor-brindle fur—he’s much more than adorable. Peanut’s energy runs high, and he needs real exercise every day, not just a lap around the block. If you slack, he’ll let you know by getting into mischief. A securely fenced yard is non-negotiable for this guy, and he’s happiest with lots of attention and involvement in daily plans. Peanut is sharp, eager, and has a will of steel. He lights up when he’s got something fun—or challenging—to work on. He went through a month of intensive training, picking up basic commands, learning focus, and responding well to structure. His adopter will need to attend a training session with the professional trainers so Peanut keeps making progress. Peanut does well with cats, provided they’re not pushovers. He likes playing with other dogs but will only thrive as an only dog in the house. Children are fine, but Peanut absolutely needs someone experienced—if you’re after a cute, low-maintenance companion, this is not your match. He’d make a fantastic agility or trail dog, and could absolutely thrive on a farm as long as he’s part of the family and not just left outside. Indoors, Peanut is well behaved, isn’t much of a barker, enjoys toys, and walks on a leash without issue. With the right guidance and involvement, Peanut’s loyalty and talent make him a once-in-a-lifetime dog. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
