Meet Axel! This sweet German Shepherd boy has finally made it to San Diego and is looking for a foster or forever home to call his own. At around 3.5 years old and over 85 pounds, Axel is a gentle giant with a heart of gold. Axel walks well on leash and loves car rides. He loves laying at his humans feet and being their little shadows. He definitely thinks he's a lap dog because he is not afraid to climb right up. He welcomes pets and head scratches. He's dog friendly and would absolutely love a yard to play in and a family to shower with affection. He does great with kids as young as 2 and is very gentle. Because he's very curious about the outside world, Axel needs a home with a tall fence to keep him safe. The good news? He's not a vocal boy and only barks when other dogs start the chorus and when the doorbell rings, like most germen shepherds he'll go on high alert and be ready to patrol the house and yard for intruders.
