About Boots

They are waiting with paws crossed! Apply now! Boots is a gentle and endearing 1.5-year-old lab/terrier mix ready to find his forever family. Rescued from Mexico, this sweet boy can be a little shy at first, but with time, his friendly and affectionate nature truly shines. Boots prefers sleeping on a cozy bed at night but will settle into whatever you provide as he feels more secure. He gets along well with other dogs and is especially playful, occasionally hiding his favorite humans’ shoes without chewing them. Weighing in at about 48 pounds, Boots is nearly potty trained, especially when he has access to a doggy door, and he is making great progress with his basic commands like “sit” and showing wonderful recall. On walks, he can be timid around loud noises and may be cautious around men, so a gentle, patient adopter is ideal—especially one who can offer calm introductions in new situations. While he hasn’t been fostered with children, he has shown positive interactions with them at the park and would likely thrive in a respectful, encouraging household. Boots is eager to become a loving, loyal family member and will flourish in a home where he is given the patience and understanding he deserves. As a fun tidbit, Boots was born under the sign of Cancer, often thought to be intuitive and caring companions. Start your journey together! Apply now.
