Hummus comes from Fajardo, Puerto Rico, and after surviving hardship and neglect, he’s eager for a fresh start. Just a year old, he melts under belly rubs and has a playful spirit that shines through during walks and runs. Inside the house, Hummus displays good manners and seems to enjoy cozy downtime as much as outdoor adventures. He’s friendly, sometimes a little shy, and will do anything for affection from his people. Hummus suffered previous physical abuse, so he’ll need positive reinforcement, patience, and the kind of gentle love he missed out on—all things that will help him come into his own. He’s heartworm positive and still under treatment, but that doesn’t damper his curiosity or zest for life. Hummus can do well with children, though supervision and understanding are important as he builds confidence. He will soon be neutered and receive all needed vaccinations. Hummus is based in Puerto Rico but can be transported anywhere in the US for either adoption or fostering. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
