At intake, he displayed a soft body and wagging tail, allowing leashing and handling. He readily approaches handlers and is eager to interact, especially when treats or toys are involved. My Ideal Home Atlas is looking for an experienced, adult-only home prepared to provide structure, training, and daily physical and mental enrichment. He has moderate leash pulling and may bark and pull toward certain dogs. He also becomes tense and growls when approached while in possession of a toy, so adopters must be committed to safely managing and positively training around resource guarding behaviors. Atlas is highly treat motivated, which will be a helpful tool in reward-based training. Long walks, puzzle toys, structured play, and clear boundaries will help him thrive. Good with Kids? Not recommended for homes with children under 13. Due to mouthy behavior and resource guarding tendencies, an adult-only home is advised. Good with Other Pets? History with other pets is unknown. Atlas has shown moderate on-leash reactivity toward select dogs, including pulling and barking. Careful management and slow introductions would be essential if placed in a home with another dog.
