Hi, I’m Spade! I’m a 1-year-old Border Collie mix weighing about 30 pounds, and I’m a proud tripod! I came from a high-kill shelter down south, but I got my second chance and haven’t looked back since. I did have surgery that resulted in one of my legs being amputated, but it truly doesn’t slow me down. I run, play, and jump just like any other young dog. Most people forget I’m missing a leg because I don’t let it define me. I’m an incredibly sweet boy and a total cuddle bug. If you sit down, I’m right there ready to lean into you or curl up close. I do amazing with other dogs and have done well with everyone I’ve met. Because I’m an amputee, I’m thoughtfully paired with dogs who won’t play too rough, just to keep me safe — but I absolutely enjoy having canine friends. I love people, too. If you’re coming my way with a treat, a bone, or just some affection, I’m thrilled. I can also be cat tested upon request. I’m neutered, fully vetted, up to date on vaccinations and preventatives, and microchipped. I’m living proof that three legs is more than enough to live a full, happy life. I’d do well in just about any loving home ready for a sweet, loyal companion who loves to cuddle as much as he loves to play.
