About Buttercup

Meet Buttercup, a beautiful 6-week-old terrier mix puppy who brings a lot of spirit in a petite package. She’s thriving in foster care, spending her early weeks surrounded by her attentive mom, Trixie (a 20lb terrier mix), and a handful of adult dogs that help curb her curiosity. Buttercup is always into toys, chases her siblings around, and leans into every moment of puppyhood. She adores people, making her a sweet candidate for a lifelong companion. Buttercup tops the scales at just 3.5 lbs and, because of her delicate size, needs a home with a securely fenced yard where she can safely let loose. She’s looking for an adopter without young children to minimize risk, as little ones can be a lot for a puppy her size. Buttercup isn’t house trained yet but is used to a gentle, nurturing environment and will benefit from continued structure as she grows. Buttercup’s foster home is in Round Rock, TX, and she’s adoptable throughout Texas and the Northeastern states. Born on January 17th, she is an ambitious Capricorn—expect a persistent, intelligent companion. She’ll be ready to go home with her new family by mid-March.
