About Barkus
Barkus was found wandering the streets and eager to greet each dog he crossed. We don’t know his story, but he came in rough shape but a happy and gentle heart. He gets along great with his foster sister(pit mix) and brother (chihuahua mix). He enjoys running and playing with his foster sister (though he can be a bit rough when very excited). He seems to like to please, sitting right away for treats and giving his paw for more pets. He knows sit, paw, and lays down in the car before exiting. What a good boy!He is crate trained, walking into his crate with no hesitation and no fuss. I work from home and he doesn’t mind just laying around (free roam) until my work day is over.Barkus enjoys chewing on ice, sunbathing, chasing lizards, playing fetch, toys and car rides. Did not bark when strangers entered the yard, just comes closely for pets. We’re still getting the hang of walking on a leash and he seems to be leash reactive with dogs, but I think he just really wants to say hello to other dogs.He will require slow introductions to children as he doesn’t seem to understand them yet. I’m confident that he’ll warm up quickly, once he understands he’s safe. Barkus seems to just want to be loved and is the sweetest boy around.
