This sweet girl has been an absolute joy to foster - she just wants to love and be loved and is very excited about both! She is still learning some leash manners, so she will need to find a family who is able to keep up enforcing boundaries and expectations. That said, she is VERY smart and responds well to both correction and positive reinforcement. On walks, she wants to say hi to just about every person she sees, even if they're on the other side of the street! She is dog selective and at times can be a little reactive to them when on walks, especially large dogs, but she corrects quickly and really just needs some work to build her confidence. Off leash, when she meets a dog she does get along with she acts like they've been life long friends and will play hard without getting too rough or overbearing, or just ignore them and do her own thing if they aren't interested in play. Cocoa is an extremely special girl, and part of what makes her special is her allergies - we have been working on finding the right diet for her and managing her symptoms, but the right forever family for her will be one that has experience with dogs with allergies and is dedicated to finding and maintaining the right diet for her. The main symptoms we have seen are itchy skin, but anyone familiar with allergies knows that if they aren't properly controlled symptoms can be much worse. Can allergies be a lot of work? Absolutely. Is Cocoa worth it? Without question! This girl will pay you back 1000 times over for that hard work in the form of love, laughter, and hugs... especially hugs! Cocoa will come up to me every day for at least a little hug time, and gives the best puppy dog "I love you" looks while it's happening!
