Darwin's mom was saved as a pregnant stray on December 11, 2025. She had 18 puppies the next day. Darwin is the only puppy that survived. Because of poor nutrition and horrific vet care, she and her mama Hope were required to evacuate their situation. Darwin was a bottle baby. She weighed 0.85 pounds when she arrived at our rescue 3 days old. Mama Hope was emaciated and malnourished. For weeks. both were in critical condition with guarded prognosis. The woman that found mama Hope was getting treatment for cancer and got Hope off the street. Hope was adopted by the woman, and Darwin is now old enough and healthy to find her forever. She's a spicey, spunky, goofy, fun little girl who survived the worst despite the odds against her. She weighs over 12 pounds now at 10 weeks old, and is getting her puppy shots.
