About Sergio
Sergio is a 10-month-old Jack Russell Terrier with a short, bicolor coat. He weighs about 14 pounds and is current on all vaccinations, neutered, and heartworm negative. Sergio came into the rescue in January and has shown himself to be a loyal, deeply affectionate dog. While he’s a bit skittish initially, he becomes extremely attached to his person, always wanting to be in contact—right in your lap or leaning against you. At night, once he trusts you, Sergio is happiest curled up beside you. He’s not suited for homes with kids, but if you have another small dog, especially one who enjoys play, Sergio would likely thrive—he loves having a small canine buddy. He isn’t yet house trained, so patience and consistency will be important. If you’d like to meet Sergio, he can be seen in Fowlerville, MI, at meet and greet events on Sundays. The rescue encourages bringing your other dog, if you have one, so they can meet in person. No out of state adoptions, and adopters must be 21+. Sergio is waiting for a calm, adult-only home where he can snuggle and build trust. Click apply to start the adoption process.

Questions about Sergio
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Jack Russell Terriers like Sergio do best in active homes where they can bond closely with their people. They thrive in a stable environment with clear routines and plenty of human interaction.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Sergio’s breed enjoys having a secure yard to play in, but regular walks and playtime are just as important. A small, fenced yard suits Jack Russell Terriers well, but they need daily activity wherever they live.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Jack Russell Terriers, including Sergio, are better in adult-only homes. This breed can be reactive, especially with unpredictable behavior from children, so a home without kids is recommended.
