He is currently a student of life, working hard to master the basics that many take for granted. He is making great strides in: Leash Walking: Learning that the world is a fun place to explore. House Training: Working on his indoor manners every day. Life Skills: Getting used to the "ins and outs" of a home and the movement of car rides. The Joy of Toys: Discovering for the first time how to play and just be a puppy at heart. Because so much is new, Max is naturally nervous and can be startled by loud noises, such as vacuums or hair dryers. He isn't a fan of bath time just yet, but with a patient hand and a calm voice, he is learning that he is safe. The Power of a Pack Max is a curious observer who relies heavily on his furry friends for confidence. He watches other dogs closely, using them as a "blueprint" for how to behave and react. Because he learns so much from his peers, Max needs a quiet home with another confident dog to act as his mentor and guide. He does very well with other dogs and finds great comfort in their presence. While we aren't sure how he feels about cats or children yet, a peaceful environment is where he will truly thrive. A Patient Match Max is looking for a special kind of hero-someone who understands that trust is built in small moments. With moderate energy and a huge capacity for love, he is a "project" that offers the most incredible reward: seeing a timid dog finally realize they are home.
