Bodie is an english cream golden retriver born 10/16/25. Bodie has a heart condition called sub-aortic stenosis. It is something genetic and sadly too common in Golden Retrievers. He is in an amazing foster home familiar with heart conditions but we are hoping to place him into a forever home where is he either the only dog or one of two so he can have lots of one on one attention. He is taking taking beta blockers to keep his heart from racing and will need to be on them forever, at doses that increases as he grow. We know he is likely to have a much shorter lifespan but we know there are golden lovers out there willing and able to provide hospice - type care for a baby. His care includes medication twice a day, blood pressure checks regularly and an echo at a year old to see how he is progressing. We are happy to pick up the cost for that echo/cardiologist appt but would like to see him adopted locally. Bodie is super sweet, loves other dogs/cats, crate-trained and almost housetrained, but he does have to be taken out often as he is a baby. He is very smart and knows some basic commands. He is a puppy, so still mouthy but in a few months with training he will be the best dog as most goldens. He is on the smaller side as just about 30 lbs at 4 months, so maybe 60-70 lbs as an adult?
