***ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS-AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION AFTER 2/24 DJ is a 4-year-old, 29-pound Bluetick Beagle whose life changed suddenly after his owner passed away and the family was unable to care for him. He has lived outdoors his entire life, so everything about the shelter — and indoor life in general — is new and overwhelming. DJ is a shy, gentle boy with big, soulful eyes that quietly take in his surroundings. He carries himself cautiously, as if he’s trying to understand what happened and where he belongs now. There is a softness to him that shows in the way he watches and waits. DJ arrived a bit underweight and will benefit from good nutrition, routine veterinary care, and the steady comfort of a home environment. With time and consistent care, we expect him to fill out and continue growing in confidence. He will need a patient, understanding adopter willing to move at his pace and give him time to adjust to indoor life and household routines. What he needs now is consistency, kindness, and a chance to finally feel secure. DJ will be fully vetted prior to adoption. His vetting includes neuter surgery, heartworm testing, current vaccinations, microchipping, deworming as needed, and he will be started on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.
