Meet Charlie 🐾 Charlie is a stunning 2-year-old female Dogo Argentino with a gentle soul and a heart full of love. Found wandering alone in a rough area of Miami after clearly being used for breeding and discarded, Charlie’s story could have broken her spirit, but instead, it revealed just how resilient and sweet she truly is. When a good Samaritan rescued her from the streets and brought her home, Charlie showed signs of a difficult past. She appeared to have recently had puppies, had a painful wound on her side, and wore a makeshift wire collar that had caused injuries to her neck. Though she was shy and unsure at first, she never showed anything but kindness. With patience, consistency, and love, Charlie has blossomed into a confident, affectionate companion who adores her people. Charlie believes she is a lapdog and proudly lives for cuddles. In true Velcro Dogo fashion, she wants to be by your side at all times, soaking up affection and returning it tenfold. She has a moderate energy level, happy with a few daily walks and known for her goofy evening zoomies, but she’s just as content spending the day lounging and cuddling. Whether it’s a lazy day at home or an outdoor adventure, Charlie is happiest when she’s with you. Naturally calm and loyal, Charlie doesn’t bark or react to people passing by. She looks to her person for guidance and warms up quickly with gentle introductions, treats, or a short walk. Once she’s comfortable, her playful and silly personality shines through. Charlie knows her basic commands, is fully house-trained, and crate trained. She currently lives peacefully with six free-roaming cats, sharing toys and even cuddles as she tries to convince them to play with her. She has not shown any negative reaction to other dogs and recently was housed with another dog and showed playful behavior such as play bowing so we believe with proper introductions, she may enjoy the company of other non-dominant dogs.  Charlie is a big dog with an even bigger heart, ready for a forever home where she will be loved and cherished.
