MAXIM This classic German Shepherd is Maxim, He is 7 years old, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and vaccinated. Maxim is housebroken and a perfect gentleman in the house when left alone. He is good with dogs his size with slow introductions, but he is not a fan of cats or small dogs. Maxim likes to climb in the bed with his foster Mom and will sleep peacefully all night until it's time to wake up. He loves car rides, likes to stay near his person throughout the day and enjoys taking walks. Maxim is great on leash but will pull if he sees a cat, squirrel or other dog. His foster Mom has him on a harness for walks and is working on his reactiveness to other dogs. Maxim is friendly with people and teens but hasn't been around small children. Living on the streets has made him cautious (and a bit protective of his foster mom). His GSD protective instincts are super. He won't patrol your windows but he will alert you to garbage trucks and suspicious people. Maxim is not a dog who immediately obeys the “sit” command but mainly because he doesn't feel comfortable sitting, laying down is much better for him. Maxim may have an old injury to his back legs or just some middle aged arthritis. Maxim has a good appetite and takes treats with the tenderness of an old pro.
