About Lyra
Meet Lyra ā A Tiny Life Saved Just in Time Lyra was born on 2/1/2026 to brave mama Hailey after she endured heartbreaking neglect. Chained, abandoned, and left fighting to survive, Hailey still gave everything she had to bring seven precious babies into the world. Lyra is one of those beautiful miracles. At just about 3 weeks old, Lyra is still in that fragile newborn stage ā all soft fur, tiny yawns, and delicate little stretches. Her world right now is simple and safe: warm milk, snuggles with her siblings, and the steady comfort of her mamaās presence. She doesnāt know how difficult her beginning could have been ā she only knows that she is protected now. And that protection will never be taken away again. Lyra is growing stronger every day. Her little eyes are opening wider, her wobbly steps becoming more confident, and her personality slowly beginning to peek through. She represents resilience wrapped in innocence ā a fresh start made possible by compassion. Because she is still nursing and learning vital early lessons from her mama, Lyra will be ready for her forever home once she is fully weaned, at approximately 8 to 9 weeks of age. These early weeks are essential for her healthy development, and we are committed to giving her the strongest foundation possible. She will never know chains. She will never know hunger. She will never have to struggle just to survive. Instead, Lyra will grow up surrounded by security, gentle hands, and a family who will cherish her for a lifetime. Her story began in uncertainty ā but it is unfolding in love. And her brightest days are still ahead. š¤š¾āØ Adoption Policy: Montague County Animal Rescue typically does not adopt dogs to homes where they will live primarily outdoors. We believe every dog deserves to be part of the family and live safely indoors. Exceptions may be made for specific breeds or unique circumstances where an outdoor environment is appropriate and secure.
