Mama Lucy is a 1.5-2 year old, 8lb short haired beauty! She was taken in about 6 weeks ago when she and her older kittens wandered into a neighborhood and onto the porch of kind folks! They fed her regularly and earned her trust. Lucy was consistent but elusive & street savvy! So her kittens (4 total) were gradually trapped and moved into foster care. With winter in full affect we knew we needed to help her too- vaccinate, spay and release was the plan-so the cycle could stop and she could go back to the life she knew but without all the worries! Our thought was to rehab her littles and find them homes! However, Day 1 in foster care and it all changed-- Lucy LOVED being warm and fed! She loved sitting with her new foster mama and reflecting on days gone by and a life changed! She loved touch! Interestingly her kittens aren't enjoying domestication quite as much... so we've have a bit of a role reversal and our plan is shaken! You see her foster never intended to hang onto her for more than a couple weeks but when this sweet girl settled in as well as she did, she couldn't just kick her out! (but she also cant 't hang onto her indefinitely!) Her foster says: ~She comes when she is called! (the neighbors gave her her name) ~Purrs very easily and LOVES being loved on! ~Wasn't intimidated or bothered by the small dog friend she met. Confidently observed but wasn't flustered at all. ~Was super chill for her vet visits (ultrasound to make sure she wasn't pregnant again and her spay day) ~Eats well and isn't picky ~Consistently uses her litter box and has since Day 1. (It's like she was just waiting for her moment to shine!) She is spayed, microchipped, FIV negative and UTD on FVRCP. Vet records will be shared with her adopter. We need to find this little mama a home of her own!
