Meet Bucko Boxer Mix | Gentle Soul | Certified Good Boy 🐾 Bucko is the kind of dog who makes friends wherever he goes. Calm, sweet-natured, and quietly charming, he doesn’t demand attention—he earns it. Bucko is dog-neutral, easygoing, and so good with other dogs that he’s earned an unofficial spot on our Welcome Wagon. He’s especially fond of a good butt scratch and will happily accept love from anyone kind enough to offer it. Bucko walks beautifully on a leash, is crate trained, house-mannered, fully vetted, and social with other dogs. He’s the kind of companion who fits easily into everyday life and makes it better just by being there. Bucko’s Story We first met Bucko in August 2024 after a kind stranger found him injured and reached out for help. He received veterinary care, but his owner at the time declined to surrender him. We hoped he would be safe. In January 2025, Bucko was picked up again—this time chained behind an abandoned house. His microchip brought him right back to us. When he arrived, he had a serious injury caused by a leash, rope, or tether that had been left around his torso for an extended period of time. With proper veterinary care and time to heal, Bucko made a full recovery. Throughout it all, he remained the same gentle, affectionate, and social dog. He continued to enjoy human companionship, handled care with patience, and showed everyone just how resilient and loving he truly is. Today, Bucko is healthy, comfortable, and ready for his forever home.
