Rico is a short boy with a long body and a great personality. Although his owner loved him, he was forced to move and was unable to take Rico with him. Rico loves to be with people and quickly warms up to new friends. He is content to wander around the yard and will chase a ball or two. His leash skills are quite good, and he is willing to keep a good pace (one that his little legs will allow him!) or to stop and sniff the smells. He can easily live in a world with other dogs and lived with children in his previous home. He is treat motivated, so teaching Nico new skills will be a pleasure. He already has mastered sit and stay as well as others behavior cues. Nico is the perfect age (5) for people that want an active dog but one that is beyond the puppy "craziness." He will make a wonderful addition to any family. The shelter has an appointment only policy. We ask potential adopters to fill out our application, prior to a scheduled meeting.
