Adoption by Advance Application Only Adoption Fee $220 Gailen is a purebred Siberian Husky. He was brought to us, along with a purebred female German Shepherd and 4 puppies (their babies). They were all surrendered due to an extreme and unfortunate change in their living situation. If you are familiar with the husky breed, you are familiar with their tendency to escape. Here is an excerpt from Husky Owner : "Huskies are known for their escape artist tendencies due to their strong desire to run and explore. Originally bred as sled dogs, they have a natural instinct to roam and cover vast distances. This breed's history and genetic makeup make them prone to escaping, especially if they are bored, restless, or seeking new experiences. To prevent a Husky from escaping, it is essential to provide them with sufficient exercise, mental stimulation, and social interaction". Gailen obviously will need a very special home. His adopter needs to be familiar not only with working breeds, but huskies in particular. We expect he is good with other dogs, as he came in with others, but always suggest a meet and greet.
