About Phoebe
This fluffy girl has a heck of a story to tell. Phoebe would have been happy to live an outdoor life if not for one fateful night. She had a nice man taking care of her and her family. One night he heard a horrible sound, soon he saw her climbing his fence with only two kittens. She brought them to him expecting her injuries to take her and instead this nice man took her and her kittens to a place that transferred the three to Northwest Animal Companions. Phoebe spent some time in medical foster raising her kittens. The kittens quickly became used to human help. Phoebe tolerated the humans but was generally shut down around the giants. She had a safe space to heal, and her kittens were quickly adopted once weaned. Having spent so much time in foster healing we didnโt really want to release Phoebe back into the wild, once again this girl got lucky and found a spot with a socialization specialist! Thus began her journey into housecatdom. For weeks this girl was so shut down but patience paid off and over time we worked our way into her heart. It took weeks before she said a thing, and months before she learned the meaning of cat toys. She is well on her way to being a wonderful companion. Phoebe is playing with toys, taking treats, she allows pets when approached slowly and lays in the open on the bed when the sun is shining the way she wants. She has allowed human children to approach and has come to enjoy her foster companions and resident cats. Sheโs still a shy girl but we have no doubt sheโll find her way in the right home.
