Meet Pixie Pixie is a 1 year and 6 month old Australian Kelpie who weighs 37 pounds. She was found by Animal Control, and sadly, no one ever came looking for her. When she first arrived, Pixie was terrified of us and unsure of her new surroundings. For the first few days, she kept her distance and didn’t know who she could trust. But as we spent time quietly sitting with her and allowing her to come to us on her own terms, she slowly began to open up and show us just how sweet she truly is. Pixie is a very smart girl who wants to be close to her person. She has learned to stay down and near you, will follow along by your side, and comes when called. Once she feels safe, she absolutely loves to roll over for belly rubs and soak up attention. Pixie is going to need someone who is willing to take the time to let her build trust at her own pace, but once she does, she will happily become your best friend and loyal companion. She has also done well with the other dogs here at the shelter.
