About Harley Barley
Harley is very unusually colored. They tell me he is a harlequin pattern - mostly white with colored spots and tail. His spots are black and gray striped. In addition he has beautiful blue eyes. I wish I knew his story! He was about 9 weeks old when he ran up to a friend crying. He immediately showed he loved to snuggle. He came to me, his foster mom, after being vetted and having first shot. I normally keep new kittens in a cage for a few days to get to know them, but not Harley. From the first he exhibited more mature behavior than I had before seen in a kitten. By the third day he had the run of the house and his house behavior was perfect and he was coming when called and following me when I said "come on". He quickly learned house routine. He also made it plain that he hated being locked up in cage or room and he was always hungry and would eat anything, even my sandwich! His favorite place for a nap is beside me or in my lap. He's always good for a nose kiss or purr. He is probably the smartest kitten I have ever had as demonstrated by how quickly he learns stuff and his awareness. He is fascinated by doors and can usually tell who is going out one. He is very fast but when he gets out is easily picked up. He is fascinated by the laptop and either likes to stare at the screen or run across the keys. He is very athletic and has a couple of times a day of running around the house and practicing those skills. He is friendly with the big cats, but not pushy. At first it seemed he was checking to see if they might be his mom, but when he saw they weren't, lost interest. After two weeks, he has begun to enjoy playing with toys. Harley is startled by loud noises like the hair dryer. He tolerated his bath but freaked when I turned the hair dryer on him. He is a wonderful kitten and I anticipate him growing to be a wonderful and beautiful cat He needs loving people that will appreciate his uniqueness.
