After spending years surviving on the streets of Tennessee—through harsh weather, run-ins with feral cats, and relying on the kindness of strangers for scraps of food—Tobby’s story is one of quiet strength and resilience. At around 5 years old, this brown Maine Coon mix has faced more than his share of hardships, but you’d never guess it from his gentle, loving nature. Tobby was rescued and brought all the way from Tennessee to Miami, where his foster family quickly saw the sweet soul behind those weary eyes. Now, safe and warm, he’s finally getting the love and comfort he’s always deserved. Tobby is incredibly sweet and affectionate—he’ll gently rub against your legs for pets or treats, and greet you with a soft, almost whisper-like meow. He’s calm, quiet, and loves nothing more than a cozy nap in a sunny spot or a soft blanket. While he can be a little shy when first settling into a new environment, once he feels safe, his trust and affection shine through. Tobby is FIV positive, but that doesn’t slow him down one bit. He is currently very healthy, thriving, and takes no medications. He feels great and lives his life just like any other happy cat! For anyone unfamiliar, FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus) is a condition that simply means a kitty may have a slightly weaker immune system. Many FIV-positive cats live long, normal, happy lives with proper care. It is most commonly transmitted through deep bite wounds, which means friendly, non-aggressive cats like Tobby can safely live with other cats. Tobby is currently being fostered with other foster cats and he does amazing. He is a special boy. Adoption fee is $375 and includes the transportation, deworming, vaccinations, FEL/FIV testing, neuter / spay surgery, and microchip. Please note that Tobby is not being out of town.
