About Walter

Walter and his companion, Saffron, showed up together seeking shelter—the kind of bold move you don’t often see from strays. Unlike most outdoor cats, Walter made it clear from the moment he arrived that he’s eager to belong in a home. He’s confident, social, and loves attention, sometimes leaning his whole body into your legs just to remind you he’s there. Adjusting to the foster home environment was barely a blip for him; even with a resident cat making a fuss, Walter kept his cool and didn’t bat an eye. Adopting Walter with Saffron would be sweet—they have a long history and might miss each other—but it’s not required. Walter stands on his own, easily adapting and making space in his life for both cats and people. The rescue places cats only within a two-hour radius of the Tri-County area, except in special circumstances. Saturday is the only adoption day, and meeting a specific cat requires prior arrangement and pre-approval. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
