About Lemon
Lemon is a work in progress in the very best way. He came to us during a community spay/neuter event and has a tipped ear, meaning he was originally part of an outdoor colony. During his surgery recovery, we saw enough softness and curiosity to give him a chance indoors instead of returning him right away. Lemon is not yet the kind of kitten who runs up to greet you â but he allows himself to be held, and he purrs when gently petted. Thatâs a big deal. It tells us the trust is in there. It just needs time and consistency to grow. Right now, he lives in an indoor catio condo and feels safest with routine and quiet observation. In our busy rescue home with many other cats, he simply canât get the focused 1:1 attention he needs to truly blossom. Lemon is looking for: ⢠A patient adopter who understands under-socialized kittens ⢠Or a foster-to-adopt home willing to spend 4â6 weeks building trust ⢠A calm environment with positive reinforcement, treats, toys, and gentle handling He would likely thrive with a confident, friendly cat companion and may do especially well if adopted with his friend Lime, who gives him comfort. Lemon is not feral â he is shy and under-socialized. With time and patience, he has every potential to become a deeply bonded, loyal companion. The kittens who make you earn their trust often become the most devoted. If he is not adopted or placed in a socialization foster by the end of February, he will be returned to his colony. We would love to see him given the opportunity to continue learning that indoor life is safe. Lemon's adoption fee is $250 and he qualifies for the BOGO adoption special if he's adopted with another kitten from our rescue. In a foster-to-adopt situation, you would not have to pay an adoption fee, you would instead supply all necessary food, litter, and other routine supplies, while we provide any needed medical care. If at the end of the foster-to-adopt period, you do not feel like the kitten is a good fit, we'll take them back, no harm, no foul. Sometimes it just isn't a good fit no matter how hard you try, and we understand that.
