Nyla's arrival to the Hermitage in May of 2024 was very emotional. We were told about this outdoor kitty who was in rough shape. We were told that it didn't look like she had any eyes. Her time arrived to be brought it. We lifted her out of the carrier and immediately realized what the problem was. She was so riddled with allergies that it caused her eyes to be crusted shut. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when we breathed a sigh of relief knowing her life had forever changed that day. Over the years, we've worked hard to get her comfortable. We had to send her to a veterinary dermatologist for skin testing so they could formulate a vaccine just for her and what she was most allergic to. Her most interesting allergic item is cats. Thankfully, the allergy room is small so there aren't so many cats that it causes a flare. Let it be known that she will require a financially stable adopter. She is on multiple medications, her allergy vaccine and a specific hypoallergenic diet to keep her allergies at bay. Even with all of this, we hope there is someone out there who will be willing to bring her into their home. It is hard to imagine how sweet she is especially with everything she's been through. She is an absolute sweetheart and we like to think she's thankful for all the effort put in to helping her feel good.
