Nyla is a small adult female Domestic Short Hair cat with a striking tortoiseshell coat. She is currently located in Tucson, AZ. Spayed and up to date on vaccinations, Nyla has weathered significant medical challenges and is now stable with daily medications and a strict hypoallergenic diet. Her new home should be prepared for ongoing care and cost, but she offers a sweet and grateful spirit in return.

About Nyla

Nyla arrived at the Hermitage in the spring of 2024, completely shut down from a life outdoors and heavy allergies. The moment she was lifted from her carrier, it was clear how hard she'd had it—her eyes glued shut from flare-ups, leaving her nearly blind to the world. After some difficult early days, she got the veterinary care she needed, including dermatologist visits and a custom vaccine for her specific allergies (remarkably, she’s even allergic to other cats, making her room at the shelter a necessity). Adopting Nyla comes with requirements. She’s on ongoing medication, an allergy vaccine regimen, and a dedicated hypoallergenic diet, so a stable financial situation is a must. Despite what she’s endured, Nyla has remained endlessly sweet—a gentle soul who seems genuinely grateful for the care she’s finally getting. Anyone willing to go the extra mile for her will find a loving, quiet companion who’s already overcome more than most cats ever will. Give her the life she’s been waiting for and experience a bond built on gratitude and trust. Click apply to start the adoption process.
