Meet Claudette, who came to us from another local rescue after being brought in from a puppy mill. Claudette is thought to be around 5 or 6 years old and a Shih Tzu mix. She weighs 11 lbs. Claudette is very nervous at the shelter and is still trying to figure out her new situation. The poor thing freezes when you try to touch her. It will take some time for her to warm up in a home, as she has never lived in one and probably has never received love from a human. We think she will eventually blossom into a loving companion. However, because of her nervousness, we think she should be in a home without children under 12. She is also a flight risk initially and will need a secure home (no open doors, fence gates, never left alone outside, etc.). Claudette is good with other dogs and can be tested with cats.
